Sorry about the lateness of this update. To get you up to speed we have moved to our new web host. Things took a little bit longer than anticipated but all worked out in the end. That gave us the flexibility to add a picture gallery for the club members to use along with the ability to host video files. Along with the move we gained tremendous amounts of bandwidth. When we had some busy months we would actually exceed our bandwidth a few days before it would reset. No forum access for days...arrghh!!! With our new host even with all the picture uploads, streaming video...we've only used at max about 4% of our monthly bandwidth. Way nice!

On to the summer.....All I can say is wow!!!! This summer was largest so far. Average car total was 60 cars a night!!! Up from the 35 we used to get years ago. With a fairly dry summer, we only lost 2 race nights to mother nature, and of those 2 nights we at least got some racing in before getting rained out. We had a good turnout for the Heavy Metal Mayhem on September 17th. Everyone wanted to get some practice before the big end of the year race......Chill on The Hill! Chill on The Hill.........what a weekend! Racing starts on a Friday night and doesn't stop until Sunday night. Many long nights were put in. The Chill was held in conjunction with the Minnesota Traveling Points Series which made that weekend the biggest race of the year. For the Chill race on Saturday we had over 170+ cars entered. That only dropped slightly on Sunday for the final race day for the Traveling Series, I believe the car count was in the 140's. There was some controversy about watering the track. It wasn't cold that weekend, but windy. The dust was pretty bad, but letting the track dry out and "blue groove" actually made the track have traction. We may have to try it again this next summer.

Now I guess to the big news. We\'re moving!!! Most of you know this. During the summer Spirit Mt. had a change of heart. Apparently we didn't fit into their "big picture". As much as setting up and tearing down the track every year sucked, the view was killer! But Spirit Mt. misplacing our 3 year contract ; ) and some of the griping going on it was for the best. So on to the good news. We're moving!!!!!! Our new home will be not that much further away. Proctor Speedway/Fairgrounds will be it. Gary has already secured a 5yr contract with the Fair board. Things are moving fast ...power has been run to the track, light poles positions have been marked and will more then likely be put in before the snow flies! We may also have a bigger and better drivers stand for next year. How does a 40' drivers stand sound? The area we have set aside for just the track is 150'x200'. The potential is huge! I BIG thank you goes out to Gary for getting us into our new home. Definitely couldn't have done it without him! Also Dan for finding a transportation for all the dirt Spirit Mt. gave us. Not to mention all the other people that help tear down the track and move it to the Proctor Track at the end of the year. Thank you!!!!

The end of racing in the summer doesn't spell the end of racing for us. Our carpet season started November 12th and kicked it off with the 724th Fundraiser.  We had a great turnout! 71 cars for our first race of the year.  All proceeds of that event went to the Family Fund of the troops. That money will help put on Family events for the troops, plus it is our way to show our appreciation for letting us use their facility. This winter looks as promising as last year. You can get our schedule of events here or by checking our event calendar. See you at the track!
